FRAPA – The Porto Alegre Screenwriting Festival is the biggest event focused in screenwriting for television and film in Latin America, where Stella got awarded Honorable Mention for her animation feature-film screenplay in 2019.

 

“PORTO ALEGRE SCREENWRITING FESTIVAL REVEALS SHORT-FILMS AND AWARDED SCREENPLAYS”

The Porto Alegre Screenwriting Festival (FRAPA) announced the winning short-films and screenplays of its seventh edition. This year’s edition received the record number of over 450 people among invited guests, players and applicants from all over the country. Cinemateca Capitólio and other locations of the southern capital were a stage of lectures, debates, workshops and films, during four days of the festival.

“FRAPA COMES TO AN END AND ANNOUNCES WINNERS”

More than 390 screenplays from all over Brazil were submitted this year. The festival is directed by Leo Garcia and executively prooduced by Mariana Mêmis Müller. Considered the biggest event of its kind in Latin America, this edition of FRAPA received a record of over 450 people, among invited guests, players and applicants from all over the country, with sold out attractions, to analyze and discuss various aspects of screenwriting.

Stella had the opportunity to be an official jury at the 14th Festa do Cinema Italiano in Lisbon, where she selected Piccolo Corpo (Small Body) by Laura Samani as the winner.

The jury of the Competition Section, composed by students of Universidade Lusófona, namely, Isabella Giordano, Stella Carneiro and Fernanda Leme, consider “Piccolo Corpo“, by Laura Samani, the grand winner with the following justification…

The official statement of the Jury is as follows: “Through a contemporary perspective, the chosen film dialogues with the past, considering the journey to find reconciliation, identity and resistance. The film flows towards an existential catharsis which remains with the audience until their last breath. For its excellence of script to its execution, the jury has selects Piccolo Corpo as Best Film of the 14th Edition of Festa do Cinema Italiano. We congratulate Laura Samani on her first feature film.”
