The Song of Aurora
Directed by Stella Carneiro, “Aurora Laul” is an Estonian short-film made with a female crew of producers, Nevena Semova and Andjela Lazic, as well as a female director of photography, Sofía Steiner G. The lead cast, Ester Kuntu and Elina Reinold are both well-known in the Estonian film and television industry. Ester worked in “Truth and Justice” (2019) and Elina currently stars in the TV Series, Kättemaksukontor. The short-film was made under supervision of the Baltic Film and Media School for the Viewfinders program to which the director of photography, Sofía Steiner G. was enrolled.
“Aurora Laul” centres on topics of homosexuality, motherhood and grief interpreted beautifully by the female-driven cast and crew. The short-film tells the story of Margit (Ester Kuntu), after she receives an unexpected visit from her former mother-in-law (Elina Reinold). Through the cinematography, the viewer is transported to the dream-realm of the protagonist, lost between grief and hallucinations of her lost partner, Aurora (Maria Paiste).

O elenco principal, Ester Kuntu e Elina Reinold, são ambos conhecidos na indústria cinematográfica e televisiva estoniana. Ester trabalhou em "Truth and Justice" (2019) e Elina atualmente estrela na série de TV Kättemaksukontor. "Aurora Laul" aborda temas de homossexualidade, maternidade e luto, interpretados lindamente pelo elenco e equipe liderados por mulheres. O curta-metragem conta a história de Margit (Ester Kuntu), depois que ela recebe uma visita inesperada de sua ex-sogra (Elina Reinold). Através da cinematografia, o espectador é transportado para o reino dos sonhos da protagonista, perdida entre o luto e alucinações de sua parceira perdida, Aurora (Maria Paiste).

After a tragic accident, Margit receives an unexpected visit from her late mother-in-law, Juula, who brought sleeping pills to help Margit with her grief. The gift does not help Margit with her feelings of loss. Instead, it takes her to a dream-state, resulting in hallucinations of her dead girlfriend, Aurora.

Após um acidente trágico, Margit recebe uma visita inesperada de sua ex-sogra, Juula, que trouxe comprimidos para dormir para ajudar Margit com seu luto. O presente não ajuda Margit com seus sentimentos de perda. Em vez disso, leva-a a um estado de sonho, resultando em alucinações de sua namorada falecida, Aurora.
